"Boo at the Zoo" and a little trick-or-treating

Candy........ something we have way too much of at our house now! But, the boys sure had a good time collecting it and dressing up for Halloween this year. Last year Tay was very ill and didn't get to go trick-or-treating. So, he got to use his Batman costume this year. Brayden had been talking about being an Oompa Loompa for almost a year, as his favorite movie is Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory.

To start the evening off, my sister, Jessie, and I took the kids to "Boo at the Zoo". There were different booths set up at Zoo Montana for the kids to collect candy. However, these are some kids that just love animals. So, they were more interesting in walking to the exhibits and seeing all the animals. Duncan, Jessie's father-in-law, joined us for our fun at "Boo at the Zoo" and was Brayden's sidekick during our time there. We all had a great time!

Afterward, Tay, Brayden, and I headed over to Grandma and Grandpa's for a little trick-or-treating. It was a fun day all in all!! But, whatever will I do with all this candy?

All About Tay.....

Boy am I terrible at blogging! It's been 3 months since my last post with many missed opportunities to write in between. But, here we go with some news about Tay! This little guy has had a busy 2 months! First, he lost his first tooth in August.

Then, he started his first year of soccer in the 4 and 5 year old age group. He absolutely loved it, and I enjoyed watching him begin to learn the game and gain some self-confidence! This morning was his last game of the season in which he played his most aggressive game. In fact, I had to tell him a few times that the kids on his team were there to help him...... not take the ball from him. He was awarded a medal for the season and has yet to take it off today. I love that he is so proud of his accomplishment!

Tay also had his 1st day of preschool in September! He sure loves his new school and teacher. He went on his first field trip to the railroad and was very excited to be able to blow the horn on the engine. this month he gets to go to the pumpkin patch and the fire hall. Next month, he will be going to see "Goodnight Moon" and "Runaway Bunny" at the Alberta Bair Theater. How fun!

On September 8th, he turned 5, much to the dismay of his mother! I can hardly believe it still! I even had to hold back the tears on my way to work that morning. ( I know, I know.... it seems a little ridiculous) Spiderman is his favorite character now, so he had requested a big cookie with spiderman on it for his birthday. I was quite happy with his request, as that is an incredibly easy thing to make and decorate. I also included some cupcakes with spiderwebs on them. He had such a good time on his special day!

Quite the overdue update

Well, since Easter was the last time I wrote a thing on my blog page and my mom has been pestering me to post some updates, I thought now is as good as any time. It's not that I haven't meant to post any updates, life has just been a little hectic to say the least. First, I went through graduation for my masters degree on May 9th. Yes, I did it!! It's been quite the year, but here I stand now with a Masters in Educational Leadership. Yep, that means I'll be a school principal soon!! Or, a curriculum director. :) I'd really like either, and both. I will be teaching kindergarten again next year though. Above, you'll see a couple of pictures. On a side note, I can't figure out how to put pictures anywhere but the top of the past. (Frustrating!!! Somebody help me. :) ) The other people with me are Jeri Heard and Brent Sukut (fellow Laurel School District teachers and Rocky cohort-mates).
The next weekend brought Tay's 1st preschool graduation program. I say 1st, because he will be in preschool for one more year before entering kindergarten. He really loves singing and "performing" in his programs. It's really quite cute how he gets into it. Might I have a little entertainer on my hands? I just can't believe he'll be going into kindergarten in one more year..... YIKES!! But, he continues to prove to me over and over again that he really is capable of quite a bit of independence. Moms, how do you learn to let go??? I know he's still young and the letting go is just beginning, but I still feel like I need to it all for him.
I'll keep you up to date as we hopefully have some fun adventures now that summer has finally begun!!

Easter Sunday...... An event-filled day!

We began our day with Tay and Brayden looking thoroughly through their Easter basket. Of course, they were thrilled to get 2 new movies...... Kung Fu Panda and Madagascar 2!! But, they loved it all. Then, they hunted the living room for the eggs they dyed with their cousin, Owen, on Thursday evening. They were so thrilled with themselves they stopped to show me each egg they found....... it was quite humorous. Let me tell you, there's no greater joy than watching your children have a great time!!! I just love the excitement in their faces!!!!

Then, we headed over to Grandma and Grandpa's house for Easter breakfast followed by a few pics before heading into Billings for church. Jessie, my sister, is the children's program director at their church, Hope Church. They had some fun activities planned for the kids followed by an Easter egg hunt after church. This of course was great fun for all the kids. Tay and Brayden were quite lucky to walk away with PLENTY of candy. :) We wrapped up our day with a delicious dinner at Andy and Jessie's house!! It was great end to a day I absolutely love!! It's always great to be with family, but the true reason we celebrate is to remember and honor Jesus' death on the cross and resurrection. Without that, we would all continue to be lost souls!!! Thank you, Jesus!!

Easter Eggs!!

This evening Tay, Brayden, and I joined my sister, Jessie, and her family for dinner. Afterward, we dyed Easter eggs with the little ones. They sure had fun, but were completely bummed when we ran out of eggs for them!! Now, we'll see if they can find them Sunday morning. HAHA!!
